October 9, 2013Some of Hollywood's most sought-after performers are coming to Mansfield to kick-off a special fundraiser this month.
The owner of Spruce Hill Inn & Cottages, 3230 Possum Run Rd., Elizabeth Clark, is officially launching a three-year campaign to raise $1 million to build a Multi-Purpose Youth Hall and Conference Center for youths in our area.
Clark said a portion of the proceeds will also benefit Jeremiah's Foundation, which aids feeding programs in the Philippines.
The campaign kick-off event begins on Oct. 25 with a dinner and dance from 6 to 9 p.m. at Spruce Hill. Actor, singer and model, 13-year-old, Matthew Parry-Jones and fellow artists AJ Mantero and Lou Baron, will perform their best songs that evening.
Clark said she's excited about the campaign called "Spruce Hill 10,000 Nights."
"We want to build a youth conference hall and training center to help educate the youth in Richland County. The center will provide the spiritual, physical and emotional help youth need," Clark said.
"We will offer trainings and retreats at the facility that will be able to accomodate 2,000 people," Clark said.
"The campaign is called 10,000 Nights because we aim to sell 10,000 gift certificates to Spruce Hill to raise $1 million in seed money to build the facility," Clark said.
The campaign kick-off will continue on Saturday with a Red Carpet Meet and Greet at the Mansfield Renaissance Theatre.
Matthew Parry-Jones will perform songs from his upcoming spy action teen thiller "Charlie's Messenger," which is co-produced by his mother, Evelyn Parry-Jones, CEO and Founder of Titanium Gate Productions.
The Philippine born entertainer already has an amazing career, having appeared in commercials and arts festivals. He also founded Jeremiah's Foundation. Matthew Parry-Jones also received an award from the organization Filipinos for Good Governance for his humanitarian efforts and his foundation.
Evelyn Parry-Jones said she was happy to support her good friend Clark in her efforts to build the youth center as well as her son's foundation.
The event will conclude on Sunday, Oct. 27 with an audition for local singers and actors ages 10 to 15 years old with Andrew Lane, multi-platinum record producer of High School Musical, Hannah Montana and Disney Mania 4.
The performers will be casted in the movie "Charlie's Messenger." "We will be auditioning kids to shoot a scene with me in the movie singing "Smooth Criminal," Matthew Parry-Jones said.
"We have a plan to shoot some of the scenes at the cottage. We're looking for the right person to sing with Matthew. We're planning on shooting the scenes in February," Evelyn Parry-Jones said.
Tickets for the dinner-dance benefit are $100 for VIP and $50. Tickets for the Red Carpet Meet and Greet are $20 for VIP and $10.
